Karoo Petals: Hand Crafted and Natural Soaps - Ladismith Country House: Spiritual retreat & guesthouse

Karoo Petals is a brand of handmade and natural soap, that is made right here on the farm by the owner. They are made with vegetable oils – olive and coconut oils form the base, whilst beeswax, shea butter, castor, palm and sunflower oils are just some of the additional oils that are used. They are extremely luxurious, moisturising and nourishing. Essential oils where applicable, give the soaps added properties. The soaps can be used from head to toe, yes on the hair as well. The soaps are free of preservatives, chemicals, etc. As the skin is the largest organ on our body that absorbs everything applied to it, should we therefore not be discerning with regards to what we apply to it?

The following range of soaps exist:

Rooibos tea – 100g bar: Contains rooibos tea leaves which provides a fairly strong exfoliation, with the known rooibos antioxidant properties
Citronella and tea tree – 100g bar: Citronella is known for keeping insects away and is perfect for the outdoors. Together with tea tree it offers disinfecting properties as well.
Citronella loofah soap – 100g round bar: Together with the citronella properties described in point 2 above, a loofah is enclosed in the soap, making it an easy and convenient travel soap.
Lemon Grass – 100g bar: Lemon grass has a refreshing and “pick-me” up smell, which is perfect for that “just cleaned” and refreshing feel.
Lavender -100g bar: Lavender is soothing and calming, perfect for moments of relaxation. It also has disinfecting properties.
Rose Geranium – 100g bar or 2 x52g heart shaped: Rose Geranium has a feminine, seductive fragrance, and is a perfect complement to floral fragrances.
Honey and oat nourishing bars (fragrance free) – 100g round bar: A fragrance-free bar, filled with the healing properties of honey and oats which add gentle exfoliation. Shea Butter adds a beautiful rich moisturising lather
Coffee exfoliating moisturising bar – 100g round bar: Coffee grounds make a mild exfoliating bar that together with Shea Butter nourishes at the same time, leaving the skin supple and soft.
Citronella travel pack – 2 bars of 52g each: Combined with the insect deterrent smell of citronella, this pack is conveniently packed, making it the ideal travel soap.
Castille Soap (made with only olive oil – fragrance free) – 100g bar: Made only with olive oil, this soap is so gentle that it should be your go to soap for problem skin.
Activated charcoal & Eucalyptus -100g bar: Activated charcoal is known for its ability to extract impurities, hence the same benefit can be applied to skin. It’s the perfect soap for oily skin. Together with eucalyptus, it’s a beautiful black bar of soap.
